The Atlavox Beacon is a solar-powered Meshtastic node that can increase the coverage and reliability of your Meshtastic network. This all-in-one unit combines the solar panel, enclosure, and antenna mounting rail into an integrated frame system that offers multiple mounting options.

Mounting Options give you plenty of flexibility on where you can install the Atlavox Beacon. (Mounting Hardware sold separately.) They include:
- Vertical pole/mast/tower mount U-Bolt slots (Up to 5/16" U-Bolts)
- Horizontal pole/railing mount U-Bolt slots (Up to 5/16" U-Bolts)
- Unistrut mount with slots or bolt holes
- Tree/column/post mount with 1" webbing strap slots
- Large tree mount with 3" ratchet strap
- Wall mount with (4) 1/4" holes for bolts
- Wall mount with (4) 3/16" holes for screws
- Vehicle mount with magnet mounts (not included)
- Roof mount under shingle
- Screw/nail mount using tear drop hole
- Table top rest with adjustable solar angle
- Tamper/Anti-theft holes allow you to padlock or cable lock the Beacon in either the opened or closed position.
- Antenna Rail with 270° of adjustment keeps your antennas vertical in a wide variety of mounting positions. The rail is laser cut with (1) N-type bulkhead cutout and (2) SMA bulkhead cutouts, giving you a variety of options for mounting different antennas for LoRa, BLE, GPS, or other custom sensor systems. Antenna Rail can be mounted on either top or bottom edge of solar panel frame, for even more flexibility and configuration. (Antennas over 12" are recommended to be mounted separately.)
- 5V, 5W ETFE Solar Panel connects to the WisBlock and uses the WisBlock's onboard charging circuit to charge the battery. The solar panel can pivot 180° from the mounting plate, enabling you to position the panel exactly where you need it to achieve optimal solar exposure.
- Aluminum, Powder Coated Frame is laser cut and manufactured in Ohio, and powder coated in Rhode Island. Intended for extended outdoor deployment, the frame with never rust and will provide years of durability in the elements. Collapse down for transport/storage. 180° adjustment on solar panel and 270° adjustment on Antenna Rail.
- Aluminum Enclosure is IP67 rated, custom made in China. It includes a USB port, power switch, LED indicators, two SMA antenna connectors, a cable gland for the solar power cable input, and a pressure equalization vent.
- Thermal separation between enclosure and frame to prevent overheating and provide space for insulation.

Awesome bit of kit!
Super high quality! Well worth the price.
I was going to build a solar node myself. I had all of the parts priced out and realized it was going to come to about 2/3 the price of the Solar Beacon and wouldn't be nearly as well designed. There is something to be said for getting the satisfaction of building it yourself, but if you just want to get a reliable, well designed product, then don't fool around and just get this.
The attention to detail in every part of this product, from the moment you get the box until you set up the Solar Beacon is impressive. Especially for a small company. I'm so used to getting packages from Amazon that are almost opening themselves when you get them, that when I got this box and had to work to open it, I realized I had forgotten what good packaging is. Once you open the outer box and get to the custom packaging for the Solar Beacon, that's where the magic begins. Wow. I would expect custom packaging from a large company, but for a small business to have custom designed packaging shows their pride and attention to detail of their products. Sure, they could have cut a few dollars off by using more generic, less protective packaging, but from the moment you get the box in your hand, you realize that the design philosophy here is, as I already said, attention to the small details.
The solar Beacon itself is very well thought out and gives you many options for placement and mounting. It has a custom designed waterproof case, mounting bracket, and antenna positioning system; it's not just an off-the-shelf waterproof plastic box. The Meshtastic software is pre-installed and pre-configured to match any other radios you have or will purchase from Atlavox. This is truly a turn-key experience. The only thing you have to do is connect the antenna cables to the antenna mounting plate (they are a snug fit, so it takes a bit of trial and error to get them into their mounting holes, but once there, they are secure), connect the wires to the jacks on the case, connect your antenna(s), turn it on, pair to your phone, and set your region,, and you're off and running.
The amount of thought that has gone into this Solar Beacon to make it as flexible as possible for any mounting situation is very nice. This is a very well engineered product, not some haphazard design created by throwing a bunch of parts into a plastic box and drilling some holes (which is what I would have done myself).
If you really want to get the satisfaction of building a solar node yourself, then by all means, go buy the parts and do it. But for the one you're actually going to mount and rely on for years to come, and be there for times of need, get this one and put it up permanently.
Congratulations to the Atlavox team for showing what real engineering can do! This is a product designed and built with pride and it shows in every facet.
The engineered mount is above anything expected. The system works awesome and a lot of thought, great equipment and great person was behind this system. The only one would recommend to anyone to purchase. This is the best system PERIOD * * * * * *
