This is my favorite Meshtastic device hands down. Extremely portable, comfortable and easy to operate.
Absolutely love the unit
Works right out of the box
This is a great little transceiver for LoRa. It works well with Meshtastic or MeshCore. I love that it has an on/off switch with backlit control on the screen. As a completely assembled unit, it is my favorite.
Geet stuff! Does what its supposed to. The only criticism is how cheap it feels. Its extremely light weight which I guess is good but the material feels pretty cheap. I would prefer more density / weight. Also, ditch the e-ink and just do an actual display IMO. Itherwise Meshtastic is sweet. Completely off-grid digital encrypted communications.
Meshcore support is lacking. It’s definitely good as a beginner companion BLE radio if you need one that doesn’t break the bank, but if you’re already deep in the mesh sauce like me—it’s pretty bland to be quite honest. I’m running a community software named “Zephyrcore” on it due to the default Meshcore firmware not even having one of the buttons on the side of the device mapped for a function, which has left me dumbfounded onto why that is.
For meshtastic it works pretty good. It has better firmware on it than Meshcore. I like the E-Ink display for indoors usage, it saves a lot of battery life when in a pinch especially with a battery as small as the one in this one.
However, I very much dislike how the antenna mount is male…the majority of 915mhz antennas on the market need a female mount, imo that’s the number 1 issue with this device.
Great little radio. Worked as expected. High quality. Arrived very quickly. Will buy again!
The idea is promising, but don't expect miracles. I'm in a valley, companion isn't going to hit a repeater 600 feet way over a small ridge.
The only place to purchase mesh components. Matt has them preconfigured ready to go right out of the box. The best service.
This is just what I was looking for, a plug and play solution that does not require assembly and programming. Highly recommended for those that just want something ready to use. Thanks!
Great little transceiver! Impressive battery life, crisp clear screen in all light. Bluetooth connection distance is excellent.
I do wish it was NOT RP-SMA as most portable antennas are not.
The GPS isn't all that sensitive or fast, but it's tiny. Having a whole knob just for backlight brightness seems more like a prop than something useful. 3 brightness settings would suffice, and make a lighter unit.
All in all, not much to complain about. Has good reach, stays connected, and sips power. Lightweight and super compact.
This is a great little Meshtastic node. I wanted it specifically because it had an on/off switch. I thought about modifying devices I already had but when I opened them up everything was covered in glue. I saw that these were coming out so I decided to get a pair. The device is a nice size and the rotary switch is very positive. The screen is easy to read. The buttons are easy to push but not so easy that you might accidentally bump them. The included antenna works okay but I upgraded the antenna in the same order, which was really convenient! The only things I don't like are that the screen sometimes flickers but that might just be a software thing. I also don't like the beep every time you push a button, but that is probably something I turn off in the settings. I'm hoping I can disable the buzzer option and that will disable it. Even if I can't disable it, it's not that bad since I don't really hit the buttons much once I have everything set. So far I am extremely happy with my purchase of this device and the service from Atlavox.
Picked up the Thinknode m1 as a ready build unit while assembled a more permanent setup. Range and power are about what expected for a unit this size . Overall it has impressed me for its price point
Well packaged, quick delivery. Radios are well built.
Really liking the ThinkNode M1. It goes with me daily. A+++
Works great!
Battery power level was off to start but it corrected itself after a few charge - discharge cycles.
I like it!
