A 32GB PNY microSD card that puts the T-Deck's storage slot to work. Get fully offline maps on the device screen, plus room to store firmware images and files. It works with whatever mesh firmware you run: Meshtastic™, MeshCore™, WadaMesh, and Ripple all read offline map tiles from the card. Choose an empty card to set it up your own way, or let us pre-load USA maps before it ships.
Two Ways to Buy
- 🗺️ Empty Card A quality PNY card, pre-formatted FAT32 and sized exactly right for the T-Deck. Load your own map regions, store firmware for launcher setups, or keep other files. A blank slate for your device.
- 📍 Pre-Loaded USA Maps We load the entire United States at a low overview zoom, plus your shipping state at street-level detail (zoom 15), before the card ships. Drop it in and go. (We only offer this service for the USA at this time)
Street-level (zoom 15) means you can see and follow individual roads, intersections, parks, and waterways to navigate a town block by block. Major roads are labeled, but not the smaller roads. (It is not building-outline or house-number detail, but it is ideal for orienting yourself when you are off-grid.) You can always add higher resolution maps yourself for your specific area.
How the Offline Maps Work
The T-Deck reads map tiles stored on the microSD card and renders them right on the device screen. Offline maps from an SD card is a feature shared across the major mesh firmwares, so the same card serves you whether you are running Meshtastic™, MeshCore™, WadaMesh, or Ripple.
You can always add, replace, or expand your coverage yourself. Download standard OpenStreetMap tile sets for any region and copy them onto the card from the community tile downloader at download.tiles.coalition.space.
More Than Maps
The card slot is one of the most useful features on the T-Deck, and maps are only part of it.
- 💾 Store and Switch Firmwares With an SD-card launcher like the https://bmorcelli.github.io/Launcher/, keep Meshtastic, MeshCore, WadaMesh, and Ripple on one card and boot whichever you want, no reflashing over USB every time.
- 📂 Room for Your Files Keep config backups, extra map sets, and other data on the same card so everything travels with your device.
Common Questions
- Why 32GB and not a bigger card? This is a device limit, not a firmware one. The T-Deck reads FAT32, and 32GB is the largest common size that formats to FAT32 cleanly. Larger cards default to exFAT, which the T-Deck may not read. 32GB is the right size, not a compromise.
- Can I add more areas later? Yes. Pop the card in your computer, grab tiles for any region from the downloader linked above, and copy them onto the card. Nothing is locked down.
