The RAK12002 is a WisBlock Real-Time Clock module built around the Micro Crystal RV-3028-C7. It keeps accurate date and time even when your WisBlock loses power, then syncs the correct time back to your WisBlock Core once power is restored.

Key Benefits

  • ⏱️ Keeps Time Through Power Loss. A super capacitor backup keeps the RTC running when main power drops, so your project doesn't lose track of time on reboot or battery swap.
  • 🔋 Ultra-Low Power Draw. Just 40 nA of current consumption, which makes it a clean fit for low-power, battery-backed Meshtastic and MeshCore solar nodes.
  • ⚙️ Simple Integration. Plugs into any WisBlock sensor slot on a WisBlock Base board. Secures with a supplied screw.
  • 📡Great GPS alternative One of the benefits of GPS modules is accurate timekeeping, but they draw a lot of power. This RTC is a great low-power solution for having accurate message timestamps.

Note: backup runtime from the super capacitor is measured in hours, not years like a coin-cell-backed RTC. This module is designed to ride out short power interruptions and reboots, not long-term storage off-grid.
